Fort Erie Race Track, located in Fort Erie within the Canadian province of Ontario, was first opened on June 16, 1897.
The track is also commonly known by the name of ‘the border oval’ because of how close it is situated to the US border (about one mile) and is also in close proximity to the US city of Buffalo.
Fort Erie is the home of the Prince Of Wales Stakes, the second leg of Canada’s triple crown.
