So, let's get ready to joust again, this time in the 'Kim Muir' as it was known for so long, before the addition of the name of the late, great trainer Fulke Walwyn. This is a handicap chase for amateur riders (17:30) and like most of the races here, it's a cavalry charge.
The one I like at a working man's price is Omar Maretti. He's trained by Alex Hales, who's been having a good season, and this horse looks very interesting. He races off a mark of 137, despite having been nicely placed to win four of his five career starts, finishing second in the other.
This trip looks ideal for him, as he showed when jumping really well and winning readily at Catterick last time. He won't mind whether it's soft or a little bit drier and he looks one of the better treated runners in what will be a big field.
The ability to cope with a field this size is one box he has yet to tick but he looks a seriously good each-way play with plenty of scope for further improvement.
So, it's Omar Maretti each-way in the lucky last, the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir, at Cheltenham on Thursday.
