Gavin Cromwell is like the cat who got the cream with his out and out stayer Flooring Porter and the bargain €6000 purchase could even contest the French Champion Hurdle.
The seven-year-old picked up back-to back Stayers' Hurdles at the Cheltenham Festival but his Irish trainer is not stopping there.
The Aintree Festival is next on the agenda, with the Yeats gelding preferring to go left handed and therefore swerving Punchestown.
Flooring Porter is used to covering the miles so a trip to Paris Auteuil won't inconvenience him and his various connections who showed at Cheltenham they love a day out!
Danny Mullins made all at Cheltenham on Flooring Porter for his second Stayers' success, sparking raucous celebrations from the Flooring Porter Syndicate.
"Flooring Porter is great, he's had a canter and he is 100 per cent," said Cromwell.
"He has really grown up - it is just maturity, but when you take him out of his familiar surroundings it can affect him, but he is a very intelligent horse at the back of it all.
"We got him over there good and early which was a big help. He was a little on his toes for the first couple of days, but then got settled into the place and the red hood was a big help at the start.
"He definitely won't go to Punchestown as he won't go right-handed, so we will go to Aintree and there is a possibility he will go to Auteuil (Grande Course de Haies d'Auteuil)."
Flooring Porter won't be double carpet odds (33/1) any time soon.
