Join the Racing Post's David Carr, former Cheltenham Festival winning jockey Dominic Elsworth and Planet Sport's Jonathan Doidge as they voice their opinions on a competitive Champion Hurdle 2022.
This year the Champion Hurdle is the fourth race on Day 1 of the Festival, going to post at 15:30 on Tuesday, March 15, and you can follow the action in our live race centre.
The unbeaten wonder-mare Honeysuckle is an obvious and worthy favourite and much will depend on how the race pans out and whether the Henry De Bromhead charge has any bad luck during the running.
If she does then there are any number of opponents looking to give Rachael Blackmore a race as Planet Sport's panel points out.
Appreciate It - Jonathan Doidge (Planet Sport tipster)
"I think you can definitely back Willie Mullins' Appreciate It at each-way prices going into the Festival, second to Ferny Hollow in the 2020 Champion Bumper.
"Of course has won three successive Grade 1's in the past, is well up to this. I know people have questioned the form of last year's Supreme when he won by 24 lengths, saying it wasn't a great renewal but it's still a pretty serious win, whatever you say in a Grade 1."
Teahupoo - David Carr (Racing Post)
"Everyone loves Honeysuckle, she's won every time we've seen her, she's going to go off a really short price but she's not unbeatable and I think this is going to be her stiffest test.
"A Gordon Elliott trained horse called Teahupoo, bit of a dark horse, not run in Britain before, he's looked really good winning each of his starts this year, doesn't have to find much improvement."
