It was a case of what was all the fuss about after Facile Vega romped to a simple win in a much delayed Wetherby's Champion Bumper for Willie Mullins.

The course had to be reconfigured after torrential rain left false patches but five-year-old Facile Vega made no mistake when the two mile, half a furlong flat race eventually started.
Willie Mullins had multiple runners and his Madmansgame, appreciating the give in the ground, took up the early running.

The Keith Dalgleish runner Aint No Sunshine seemed more of a taunt given the horrendous conditions and the Mullins' mouthful Houlanbatordechais ran on to a huge lead he was never going to keep.

When push came to shove it was the two market leaders, Facile Vega and Gordon Elliott's American Mike doing the talking with the bookies sizing the market up well.

15/8 favourite Facile Vega made light work of the talented 5/2 shot American Mike in second, while Mullins got the first and third as James's Gate ran on for an 18/1 third.
It was facile by name and facile by nature for Mullins' winner who looks to have a smart future.
