For Friday's nap we're heading to Huntingdon, where Nicky Henderson has a good chance in the 13.25 on the card with Royal Ruby.
There is no one better in the sport than Nicky for bringing horses back from a layoff and winning on their reappearance. He managed to work the oracle with this one too, when he came back from a 17-month absence to score on his return at Stratford last July.
That came over an extended 2m3f and he did it by 23-lengths, so it was undoubtedly emphatic. An 11lb rise looked fair when he returned there as favourite next time, but came unstuck, running out of petrol over slightly further.
He's had another 158-days off, we know freshness will be to his advantage and he drops quite significantly in trip too. I don't think that will be a problem to him, as he made all at Stratford and doesn't look short of pace.
I still think he could be well treated off his current mark, so Royal Ruby it is to carry Nico de Boinville home in front.
