There may not be many runners at Doncaster on Wednesday but there are several very interesting races, not least the Virgin Bet Handicap Hurdle (16:00), over an extended three miles.

Six go to post for the race on ground described as soft. The selection is Half Track, who is trained up north by Nick Alexander and ridden on Wednesday by Sean Quinlan.
He makes his handicap debut off a BHA mark of 115, on the back of a first career win at Ayr (2m5f, soft) in December. This extra three furlongs looks very much a plus, we know he handles the ground and he has improved with every run so far.
I think he looks capable of making further progress and defying what, with hindsight, might look a very handy mark.

So it's Half Track in Doncaster's 16:00 on Wednesday.
