The early favourite, Sense Of Worth, switched yards a month ago and is making his stable debut for a yard that has a poor strike rate and has sent out only two winners since June 2021.

The potential value elsewhere brings in the rails runner, Mykonos St John, who has plenty in his favour under these conditions.

The six-year-old is an intriguing prospect as he returns from a 197-day break, and the only two previous times that he returned fresh from breaks of more than 100 days, he won both times.

The last time he returned from a break of more than 100 days was in this month last year, when, despite being below form on his last few runs of the previous year, he came straight out and won a Class 3 handicap over seven furlongs at Southwell off a mark of 76.

This season, he returns in the corresponding month, having again been below form on the last few runs of his previous campaign, but this time he starts off in a lesser Class 4 handicap and he runs off a mark of just 72, which is his lowest since he returned from the first of those two extended breaks.
Mykonos St John has been to this venue only three times, all for handicaps over today's trip.
He won the first of them after a break of 158 days and the latest of them, which was in March last year, saw him out-run a big price to finish fourth of 12 in a very strong Class 2 handicap which he contested off 82 (10lbs higher than today).
His last two wins came off 76 and he won them both easily by two lengths, so he appears extremely well-handicapped as he returns to action.
On the two previous occasions off long breaks, he reeled off three straight wins the first time and, on the second occasion, he won a Class 3 before finishing third and fourth in successive Class 2s on his next two handicap starts.
In each of the previous two years, his form has tapered-off in the second half of his campaign, thereby reducing his mark significantly in readiness for his return the following year.
The pattern is there and he is well-suited by this trip, plus he is also very well-served by the inside draw because he loves to race prominently.
Four of his five wins have come on the all-weather, despite having raced less often in this sphere than on turf.
Scott Dixon trains his horses on Tapeta, so it is no surprise that the three winners he has sent out in recent days all came on this surface (two of them ridden by Dale Swift) and another plus is that two of those recent winners were having their first outings.
Of today's other contenders, Baby Steps could easily bounce back from a sub-par run over 10 furlongs at Lingfield now that he returns to his favourite track.
His last three wins have all been achieved here, the latest of them being a 12-runner handicap over this trip last October.
His top winning mark here has been 79 and his most recent visit, at the end of last year, saw him finish a close third of eight over this distance which he contested off 76.
A similar effort from a very handy stall 2 in this 0-82 (essentially a 0-77 without the top weight) will make him a big player off 75.
