As is often the case, Nicky Richards goes mob-handed to Kelso on Thursday.
He has a few with claims during the card, none more so than Famous Bridge in the William Hill Leading Racecourse Bookmaker Handicap Hurdle (16:20), which brings the curtain down on the card.
The Greystoke string is in good form and this six-year-old, who sports the colours of the Exors of the late Trevor Hemmings, surely has his best days still to come.
Third in a 2m4f bumper at Punchestown last March, when with Damian Murphy, he has shown up well in all three hurdles runs since joining Richards.
He scored at Ayr (2m3f, good to soft) in the middle of that trio, while he did nothing wrong when beaten less than two lengths at odds-on under his penalty here last time. That was over an extended 2m6f, but this drop back to 2m5f won't be a problem.
He makes his handicap debut here off a mark of 117 and it's hard to believe he won't make up into a significantly better performer, while he also has the assistance of nailed on cert for a second jockeys' championship, Brian Hughes.
So we'll take Famous Bridge as our strongest pick of the day at Kelso on Thursday in the 16:20.
