I also put up Wind Tor last time out and was disappointed with the ride he received from Chloe Emsley, who appeared to lack the required control at the reins to keep the horse on track, resulting in the horse being outpaced before doing his best to stay on at the end.
After eight runs under rules with that same jockey, I'm hoping today will be a different story as Wind Tor's saddle will be occupied by Joshua Newman, who has enjoyed previous success with the horse after the pair shared six point-to-point wins from just nine rides.
Wind Tor is a proper stayer and while he has won those point-to-points over a bare three miles, under rules he has appeared to want a bit further, while a bit of soft ground wouldn't hurt in helping to slow the pace-setters down.
Wind Tor acts well at Chepstow, with two good placings from two rides at the Welsh venue, postmarking 97 on both occasions.
Today's mark of 88 gives the partnership every chance to be involved at the finish, and I therefore recommend a point each way.
