There's plenty to look forward to this afternoon, despite some small fields, with Cheltenham Festival clues aplenty, and the Planet Sport Live Centre is where you will find the race cards for both Newbury and Warwick. But don't just take our word for it.

Now on to those tips we mentioned - listed below - and the reasons behind them, a bit further down the page.

Selections:
Bravemansgame (13.15 Newbury)
Maries's Rock (13.35 Warwick)
Polish (13.50 Newbury)
Brave Seasca (14.05 Warwick)
Royal Pagaille (15.00 Newbury)
Sceau Royal (15.00) Newbury)
Dinny Lacey (15.15 Warwick)
Broomfield Burg (15.35 Newbury)

13.15 Newbury - Bravemansgame

Paul Nicholls is using this 3m handicap to prep his exciting seven-year-old for bigger targets in the spring - the 3m Grade 1 novice at Cheltenham is under consideration, though he might wait for Aintree - and that he's giving weight away to all his inferior rivals this afternoon is no real reason to oppose him.
Now 3-3 over fences after dishing out a comprehensive beating to main market rival Ahoy Senor (a winner since) at Kempton on Boxing Day, he has the scope to keep on improving and it wouldn't surprise to see him line up in next season's King George, such is his undoubted class.
Some will point to the quiet form of his stable - just 1-39 in the last fortnight, including poor efforts from Frodon and Greaneteen in Ireland - as a reason to take him on, and the hat-trick seeking Pats Fancy appeals most of the remainder, but that Nicholls is happy for him to strutt his stuff this weekend is good enough for us.

13.35 Warwick - Marie's Rock

A disappointing turnout of just four runners for this 2m5f mares' Listed contest and Paul Webber's Indefatigable heads that quartet in terms of official ratings following a close second in a Cheltenham handicap last time, which entitles her to favouritism.

But she ran no sort of race at Newbury two starts back, albeit in Grade 1 company, and ideally wants proper spring ground, which makes the current odds-on quotes unappealing.

She's also conceding 6lb to main market rival, Nicky Henderson's Marie's Rock, whose latest pulled up effort when sent off joint favourite for the Lanzarote Hurdle can be discounted given that she was almost brought down early on.
A good winner at Kempton previously, when appearing to relish the step up to this sort of trip, she looks back to the sort of smart form she showed as a novice and can perhaps rate a good bit higher still.

13.50 Newbury - Polish

The Brimming Water appeared to find today's trip of 3m stretching him when third at Haydock last month, following a victory over two furlongs shorter, while Risk And Roll has a good record fresh and may struggle to back up his Huntingdon success 15 days ago following a break.
A much safer option is Fergal O'Brien's Polish, whose latest fourth at Ludlow hinted at a return to top form and this is his time of year, having won during February in each of the last two seasons.
A winner over 2m on the Flat at Goodwood last October, he's a strong stayer at this trip over hurdles and his most recent success in that sphere came over today's track and trip almost 12 months ago.

Having slipped back down the weights a little since, he can run off the same mark this afternoon and Paddy Brennan knows how to get the best out of him having ridden him twice to victory previously.

14.05 Warwick - Brave Seasca

Just the four runners for this Arkle trial but it's a cracking renewal nonetheless with two legitimate contenders for that Cheltenham Grade 1, Edwardstone and Third Time Lucki, taking each other on.
The former horse is shading favouritism and that's understandable given he has not looked back since being brought down at this track on his chase debut in November, when looking all over the winner, with his three wins since including a Grade 1 at Sandown.
Third Time Lucki was well held in third at the Esher track before resuming winning ways at Doncaster last time on good ground - he's now 3-3 over fences on such a surface and may not enjoy today's conditions as much as the King runner.
But this is no two-horse race and Venetia Williams' Brave Seasca has to be seriously considered at the odds having made rapid progress over fences, rattling off a hat-trick of handicap wins in fine style and including one over track and trip.
It was his neat and accurate fencing that had his rivals in trouble from some way out on that occasion and while this is a tougher assignment, he's clearly still progressing and doesn't have to shoulder a penalty like his better-fancied rivals.
With his stable in cracking form - 9-26 (35%) in the last fortnight - it wouldn't surprise to see him go close and enhance his own Festival claims, with the handicap option of the Grand Annual perhaps his best chance of glory.

14.25 Newbury - Royal Pagaille

Clan Des Obeaux is a hard horse to weigh-up. Yes, he ran another solid race when second in the King George, although he found things hard work from the second-last and would have finished third had Asterion Forlonge stood up. Is he has good as he was? Probably not and let's not forget he was beaten by a stablemate when favourite for this contest 12 months ago. And then there is the stable form.

At around the even money mark, he has to be taken on and Venetia Williams' Royal Pigaille is a worthy adversary for all he's rated 6lb inferior and falls short of Gold Cup class, a race he finished a tailed off sixth in last season.
He'd ideally want the ground a good bit softer than he's going to get here but his latest battling win off top weight in the Peter Marsh, when defending his crown, shows him in great heart at least and his stable is in flying form. He'll do for us.
As for the rest, Eldorado Allen is a staying two-miler with stamina concerns over this far, while Imperial Aura has not been seen since pulling up at Aintree in early December and is probably best watched for now.

15.00 Newbury - Sceau Royal

It's not ideal that last year's winner Sceau Royal has to shoulder a 6lb penalty, unlike last year when he was helped by a last-fence mistake from Champ, and he's also up against a couple of improving, younger rivals in Hitman and Funambule Sivola on his return to fences.
The former Paul Nicholls-trained runner is the best of these at today's weights having chased home stablemate Greaneteen in the Tingle Creek when last seen out, but the quiet form of his stable is a slight concern even though Nicholls reckons that has been "blown out of proportion."
Funambule Sivola, who represents the bang-in-form Venetia Williams, is very tempting as his latest success at Doncaster represents very strong handicap form and his earlier second in the Peterborough Chase showed he is up to competing at this Grade 2 level.
However, both of those races were run at a good clip, which played into his hands as he stays a good bit further than 2m, and this four-runner contest may be far more of a tactical affair. When you factor in his propensity to make the odd mistake, he too makes no real appeal at the current shortish odds.
He could prove far better suited to the Grand Annual, a race won last year by Sky Pirate, who brings up today's four-runner field, and the final choice has to be Sceau Royal, with the upturn in his stable's fortunes (three winners in the last four days) clinching the bet.

15.15 Warwick - Dinny Lacey

Celebre Allen is chasing a hat-trick after two heavy-ground wins at Haydock but a 9lb rise and today's better surface might just find him out, while both Falco Blitz and Our Power have also been reassessed after recent wins.
That trio take a big chunk out of the market and Irish raider Dinny Lacey, who is a nice price as a result, is very interesting here having ran his best race for a good while when a close-up third at Limerick last month.
He has hardly been prolific over fences - just 1-10 in this sphere so far - but is certainly handicapped to win a decent handicap like this one and that Cork-based James Motherway is travelling over with him is significant.
As a son of Presenting he won't mind today's drying ground (officially good to soft) one bit either and the booking of Robbie Power, who is here for just one ride, is the icing on the cake.

15.35 Newbury (Betfair Hurdle) - Broomfield Burg

Last year's winner Soaring Glory should put up a bold defence despite top weight, which didn't stop him winning a competitive Ascot handicap back in October before going on to run a fine race when third behind Epatante in the Christmas hurdle, in which he was giving that mare 7lb.
But there's surely one further down the handicap that can beat him this afternoon and while he's far from an original choice given he's disputing favouritism at the time of writing, it's not hard to imagine that Broomfield Burg is far better than his current mark of 134 would suggest on his first venture into handicaps.
Nicky Henderson's six-year-old barely broke sweat when landing a Kempton novice on Boxing Day and bumped into an even better handicapped rival in Lively Citizen (in receipt of 25lb) when a beaten favourite in a Cheltenham handicap previously.
An Irish point winner who made 90,000GBP at the sales afterwards, he looks the type to be suited by big-field handicaps considering he does everything on the bridle and it was also encouraging to see him settle much better last time off a slow gallop without his usual hood, which is again left off.
Colin Tizzard's Jpr One is another lightly-raced type dropping into handicap company for the first time and that his stable had a 6/1 winner on Friday after a quiet spell will encourage his backers further, while Boothill could improve on what he's shown so far this season with a first-time tongue-tie fitted. But the Hendo runner could prove far too good.
