We'll start up the engine with a quick run through of our selections for Saturday's action, there's some more detail on our highlighted horses further down the page.

Selections:

13:30 (Warwick) Messire Des Obeaux

13:50 (Newbury) Annual Invictus

14:05 (Warwick) Love Envoi

14:25 (Newbury) Eldorado Allen

14:40 (Warwick) Jonbon

15:00 (Newbury) Greaneteen

15:35 (Newbury) Rubaud

13:30 (Warwick) Messire Des Obeaux

Messire Des Obeaux might be one to try for longer odds in the opening Virgin Bet Warwick Castle Handicap Chase.
His career has been plagued by injury, but it should not be forgotten he was good enough to win at the highest level over hurdles and in Grade Two company over fences, with the 10-year-old still showing encouraging signs when pulled up on his recent return.
Stolen Silver ran a stormer last month at Cheltenham in a valuable handicap, for which he has been raised 4lb.
A small field may not be ideal for Sam Thomas' charge but he should have too much class for the well-handicapped Knight In Dubai and Galahad Quest, who has finished in the first two on three of his last four outings.

13:50 (Newbury) Annual Invictus

Barbados Buck's has twice run well in defeat since returning from wind surgery and, with little to fear over this trip on the forecast going, he is respected.
However, Annual Invictus may have found the ground at Wincanton more testing than he truly cares for when last seen and he can bounce back here.
Jatiluwih is closely matched with the selection judged on their encounter at Cheltenham in December and is also considered.

14:05 (Warwick) Love Envoi

Love Envoi is another likely to prevail at skinny odds in the Virgin Bet Best Odds Daily Warwick Mares' Hurdle.
A multiple Grade Two scorer last term, she impressed under a heavy burden when winning a handicap to kick off her campaign, while her recent Listed victory could hardly have been more effortless.
A handy 2lb pull with her major opposition here only further enhances confidence.
The seven-year-old mare may prefer softer conditions but she is well ahead of the rest on form, and it may be that the capable Theatre Glory is best placed to chase her home.
Unbeaten over course and distance, Molly Ollys Wishes cannot be ruled out either, despite showing little the last twice.

14:25 (Newbury) Eldorado Allen

Eldorado Allen has a bit to find at the weights with Hitman, but he has proved his stamina over this trip, unlike his rival.
Joe Tizzard's charge has done well, without winning, since he triumphed in last year's renewal of this race and he is expected to be hard to beat back on a happy hunting ground.
Hitman had a legitimate excuse, as he was found to have bled from the nose, when he was pulled up behind the selection (fourth) in the King George at Kempton over Christmas.
Better can be expected from the Paul Nicholls-trained gelding if all is well this time.
Fanion D'estruval (third) finished a long way in front of Kalashnikov (sixth) when they met in the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby on Boxing day and he also warrants respect.

14:40 (Warwick) Jonbon

It will be a surprise of epic proportions if Jonbon does not prevail in the Virgin Bet Kingmaker Novices' Chase.
Nicky Henderson's charge is two from two over fences, winning over the same two miles he faces here on his chasing bow before absolutely hacking up in the Henry VIII at Sandown in December.
Anything but victory is unthinkable for the Arkle favourite.
Recent course and distance winner Haddex Des Obeaux is not one to take lightly, though, despite being rated 13lb lower than the selection.
Bass Rock can pick up the pieces if there are any mishaps from the aforementioned pair.

15:00 (Newbury) Greaneteen

Greaneteen is another Ditcheat runner who should be returning to winning ways in the Betfair Exchange Game Spirit Chase.
No match for Edwardstone in the Tingle Creek when last seen, the nine-year-old is at his best on a sound surface and the fact he is rated at least 15lb superior to each of his rivals here makes his claims quite clear.

Funambule Sivola hasn't been in the same form this season as when landing this contest 12 months ago before filling the runner-up spot in the Champion Chase, so the most likely rival to chase Greaneteen home may well be Malystic, who produced a smart effort in handicap company at Doncaster last time.

15:35 (Newbury) Rubaud

The five-year-old makes plenty of appeal as a relatively unexposed runner towards the bottom of the weights, in what is one of the most competitive heats of the season.

A Flat winner in France, he showed little zip on his debut for Nicholls in last season's Adonis Hurdle, but he has been a different proposition this term, making all for two cosy victories at Taunton in November and December before finding Rare Edition just too good at Kempton over Christmas.

Beaten seven lengths on Boxing Day, Rubaud was in turn 13 lengths clear of the third on ground that really would have been softer than ideal.
Filey Bay has been very popular in the ante-post betting having recently been purchased by J P McManus after winning a brace of handicaps at Doncaster and Wincanton.
Hacker Des Places commands respect based on his Trials Day win at Cheltenham, despite carrying a 5lb penalty.
Others for the shortlist include Highway One O Two, who ran with plenty of credit in the Christmas Hurdle, Icare Allen and No Ordinary Joe.
