Here's some more juicy details on Planet Sport's picks from Newbury on Saturday, March 5.

13.50 Newbury - Senior Citizen

Pete isn't scared of going after a competitive field in the BetVictor Greatwood Gold Cup Handicap Chase and he is siding with dual-purpose trainer Alan King.

Senior Citizen is no slouch and won well on his penultimate start at Market Rasen.
Tom Cannon gets the leg up and here are some of the reasons why Pete thinks that Senior Citizen is not ready to draw a pension just yet.
"Now Senior Citizen was very decent in this race last year, finished fourth, was never really challenging Umbrigado for the victory but at the same time I still thought showed a lot of guts in that race.
It went in to the book, it stays in the book and I think this time around has a very good chance, particularly because finishing second behind Mac Tottie in the Grand Sefton was really not a bad run at all. Mac Tottie, we know was good that day and I do think that this is a horse that bears a lot of respect."

in the 14.27 Punctuation can make his mark for the Fergal O'Brien yard. Hitting form at the right time, Punctuation was an easy winner last time out at Warwick and the weight rise should be manageable over an ideal trip.

Hat-trick hunter Major Dundee can take the cake for Alan King in the 16.12 in the colours of the late Trevor Hemmings. A distance win over the quirky two miles, seven and a half furlongs trip is useful for this versatile performer.

The final bumper at 16.47 can go the way of Team Twiston-Davies' Weveallbeencaught who won a three mile Irish maiden on soft and obviously has a big tank.
