He will be changing back to cheekpieces after wearing a visor in recent starts, and his record in that apparatus is really good overall, with one win and three runner-up spots from seven starts when wearing cheekpieces, and all in better quality fields than the one he will face at Southwell on Tuesday evening.
Despite finishing fifth last time out at Wolverhampton he fared the best of those held up, and the seven pounds claimed by regular jockey Alice Bond means Sun Festival will be carrying one of the lightest burdens in the race.
He will be lining up in 0-55 company for the first time over this course and distance, and I would have them amongst the favourites here at around 4/1 for them, so anything 6/1 and above is good each-way value.
