I put up Get Going as a raised stake 100/1 shot last time out (see my abridged write-up below).
16:50 (Wetherby) Get Going
- Only raced six times primarily over two miles. Showed promise. His pedigree is stamina ladened on both the dam and sire's side. This first try at three miles on only his second handicap off 84, when already postmarking 90 over two miles, two furlongs makes him interesting, especially at 100/1. Worth a raised stake play.
He subsequently went on to run a hugely promising race, tracking the leaders, jumping well, and was going as well as anything turning into the home straight.
He just finished a little tamely and Wednesday's return to two and a half miles looks a fair shout.
The soft ground might have been the problem as his best run was on good ground (postmarked 90 on debut) so the good, good to soft in places should help the six-year-old gelding.
I'm pleased the cheekpieces are retained, and with the handicapper dropping him another two pounds, his mark of 82 looks like it could be a winning mark.
He was 40/1 at the time of writing, and he holds value down to half that at 20/1, so I recommend a point each way.
