MERV RUMBLE · JESS DEL FRARI · 5yo Gelding
Returns from a lengthy six-month lay-off after ending last campaign with a second-last in Class 1 grade at Bathurst, beaten over 11 lengths at big odds. His previous fourth in a BM45 at Binnaway had more merit after he was slow away, wide throughout and steadied late. Last campaign ended flat, but the earlier Binnaway fourth had excuses and his 6½f record gives place appeal.
