PUNISHMENT DAY

JASON EDWARDS · BEN THOMPSON · 3yo Colt

Won his when resuming Maiden at Sunshine Coast as a well-supported favourite, sitting behind the leaders and edging clear to beat No Wallet Reg by just over half a length. That was only his second start, so there is scope, but he now steps from Maiden grade into an Open race and rises to a trip where he was unplaced on debut. Weight relief helps, though the assignment is much stiffer. Might find this a bit tough.
