Started favourite on debut at Pakenham Synthetic but could manage only seventh, beaten four and a half lengths by Angelotti after settling midfield and keeping on. There was no major excuse, so improvement is required, but his lead-up trial profile was encouraging and the Hayes stable usually gives these types time to come on. Should be right there.
